Alan Designs was entrusted with leading the creative direction for a high-profile photoshoot to support the branding of BMW’s XM, a luxurious high-performance SUV that merges the best of BMW’s engineering with bold, modern design. His role in the project was to capture the essence of the XM’s powerful performance and exclusive luxury, ensuring the visuals conveyed the vehicle's unique status as a flagship model in BMW's M division.

Alan Designs began the project by deeply immersing himself in the brand’s vision for the XM, researching its design philosophy, performance features, and target audience. We wanted the photoshoot to evoke a sense of strength, speed, and opulence, with a focus on how the XM seamlessly balances cutting-edge technology with refined elegance. To achieve this, Alan Designs meticulously selected a series of diverse, high-impact locations that would best showcase the XM’s versatility—from ultra-modern urban environments to rugged, natural landscapes.

Alan Designs approach to the visual storytelling of the BMW XM was not just about capturing the car in motion or at rest; it was about evoking the emotion of driving the XM. For this reason, we conceptualized dynamic shots that showcased the SUV's power, such as the XM carving through sharp mountain curves or effortlessly gliding through a high-tech urban setting at night desert.

The final photoshoot resulted in a visually stunning collection of images that successfully captured the dual nature of the XM—its raw power and its refined luxury. Alan Designs creative direction helped create a compelling branding campaign that not only highlighted the vehicle’s impressive features but also positioned the BMW XM as a symbol of status, innovation, and uncompromising performance. The imagery was used across various digital and print platforms, strengthening BMW’s presence in the luxury automotive market and resonating with their target audience of high-end, performance-driven consumers.
